I saw the movie yesterday.  Very beautiful movie.  Very elaborate scenery.  It was also a good message movie.  Its much an educative film in subject matter.



 What frustrated me immensely was there was very little beautiful dance movement on the film.  Just when they started moving the scene was cut.



I went to see the film because of the short advertising clip and it had the same cuts when it came to graceful dancing.  But I did not miss it as much as when I saw the film.



Having said that I loved the Bull Police Sargent and the Lion Mayor.  They were beautifully drawn and also the movement was quite believable.  There was a criminal lair with the carnivore criminals that was also very powerful.



It was a good film but I found more inclined to children than to adults like me.  I would be a fan of adult animated film but I think at this point it is much too expensive.  At least for the kids there is backing.  Another thing, adult films rely very much on the message. With a kids film I can enjoy the action without really having too trouble absorbing the message.  But the time the adult fantasy films come along the messages are very very precise. And very individual. I mean culturally defined.  thats perhaps part of the problem.  I don't often find an adult fantasy film with a message that is cross-cultural enough for everybody.  You have to remember that cultures are between nations but also between social strata as well. When I was in China there was talk about age as well. I spoke to a gentleman who believed that people of different ages were different cultures completely.  And there was much serious money put into publicity for the different ages.  Childrens and babies pnblicity was just as big business as teenager and adult.



All this to say, there are probably so many issues about topic matter to deal with in regards to adult fantasy film that a really polished one is not in the cards at this time.
